Grupo SATA continues to improve flight punctuality and regularity through November

From January to November this year, Grupo SATA continued to improve the punctuality and regularity of its flights, even setting records in October.


Aware that the punctuality and regularity of flights are among the most important factors in terms of how customers assess airline companies, SATA Air Açores and SATA Internacional have shown significant improvements during the current year.
From January to November 2011, SATA Air Açores’ flight punctuality was 87.5% compared to


76.2% in 2010 – an increase of 11.3 percentage points, representing an improvement of around 15%. Despite the significant impacts of Azores weather conditions on its operations, SATA Air Açores’ flight regularity (actual versus scheduled flights) saw a noteworthy increase of 3.2 percentage
points, from 93.3% in 2010 to 96.5% in 2011.


From 1 January to 30 November of this year, SATA Internacional’s flight punctuality was 82.1%, with 99.5% flight regularity (actual versus scheduled flights). These indicators, compared to the same period in 2010, when flight punctuality was 70.0% and flight regularity was 97.5%, show increases of 12.1 percentage points for flight punctuality and 2.0 percentage points for flight regularity.



Finally, of particular note was October 2011’s performance, where SATA Air Açores had a record flight punctuality of 95.8%, i.e. nearly 96% of flights departed on time. SATA Internacional also had very satisfactory flight punctuality of 89.6% in October, i.e. nearly 90% of flights departed on time.
