SATA begins constrution of Santa Maria Training Centre
Published on 08 January, 2012As announced last year, once the necessary formalities have been completed, Grupo SATA will be breaking ground this January on its Santa Maria Training Centre.
This innovative initiative is aimed at capitalizing on a collection of aviation infrastructures and synergies available on Santa Maria. Grupo SATA’s Santa Maria Training Centre will be comprised of various training rooms, including one with the emergency and personal protective equipment normally used by flight
personnel in emergency situations aboard aircraft.
This centre will also have a simulator to train cabin crews in general and operational in‐flight services, and to train staff in fire‐fighting, emergencies and rescue.
Grupo SATA’s Santa Maria Training Centre will consolidate many of the training activities currently conducted outside of the region. Its annual attendance is expected to include 1,200 trainees for a total of 14,500 training hours.
The training to be provided is aimed primarily at Grupo SATA employees, mainly flight and ground handling personnel, together with other operators who express interest in taking advantage of these new facilities.
